Ryan Newman is an American professional stock car racing driver born on December 8, 1977 in South Bend, Indiana. He began his career in open-wheel racing, competing in the USAC and Indy Lights series before moving to NASCAR in 2000. Newman has achieved considerable success as a NASCAR driver, winning 18 Cup Series races and numerous poles throughout his career. He has been recognized for his accomplishments, including being named the 2002 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year. Newman has also been involved in philanthropic endeavors, supporting causes such as organ donation and animal welfare. In 2020, Newman was involved in a serious crash during the Daytona 500, but recovered from his injuries and returned to racing the following month. Ryan Newman continues to be an active figure in the racing community while also being a devoted father and husband.
